Seeking interchange: LIGHTSTONE is a student initiative encouraging engagement. Between global democratic backslide, armed conflict, and shifting climate it is difficult maintaining a positive outlook regarding future. Focusing on pressing issues of our time, we want to forward messages and conversation promoting active, improvement-driven commitment — to ourselves, to each other, to the planet. We believe the way towards progress can only lead through collaboration and curiosity. Respect and responsibility. Drive and dedication. Courage to change. Where to start? Right here.
In 2022, we started asking artists to create visual statements for t-shirts to collect funds supporting animals in Ukrainian war zones. 100% of all proceeds were donated to Petners Berlin — an NGO delivering food and supplies to shelters in Ukraine as well as finding new homes across Europe for orphaned pets.
Impact-driven commitment being our core priority, all products aim at raising donations to help those who cannot speak for themselves.
As we expand our thematic focus, we consult with our collaborators individually on the exact purpose and organization towards which the proceeds of each edition are directed.

Our commitment to reductionism is non-negotiable. Our premise: the world needs more less!
We actively try minimizing our environmental impact taking the following measures:
• Utilizing 100% organic materials (including fibers) and natural colors
• Keeping down plastic, chemical, and waste use in production, packaging, and storage
• Making limited editions only to avoid leftover stock
• Printing most of our t-shirts by hand
To ensure what we add to this planet can be worn responsibly, all our products comply the following certificates:
• GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard)
• Oeko-Tex (customer confidence & high product safety)
• PeTA Approved Vegan (vegan materials, no animal fibers, no animal testing)
• FairWear (fair working conditions such as living wages and freedom of association)
Looking for new possibilities of improvement, we currently research ways of further optimizing emissions from shipping and energy usage.
